Humble Artesian League of the American Business Womens Association Offers $2,000 Scholarship - Humble

The Humble Artesian League of the American Business Womens Association (ABWA) is offering a scholarship worth $2,000 funded through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund to a deserving area student.

Each year, local chapters of ABWA provide Stephen Bufton Memorial Scholarships (SBMEF) to female students who will be attending accredited U.S. colleges, universities and community/vocational schools.

Applicants of this scholarship must be/have:  citizens of the United States; completed sixty (60) credit hours of college; GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher; seeking a baccalaureate degree or higher; and be attending an institution authorized to confer degrees at the baccalaureate level or higher in the United States. Eligible women interested in applying for the scholarship should contact:

Applications will be completed online and will include the following:
1)      Applicants must complete in full an online application.
2)      Applicants must complete a short biographical section which includes career objectives, educational goals and any other pertinent information.
3)      Applicant must submit an official transcript to:

4)      Applicant must upload three (3) professional letters of reference.
Applications must be completed by June 1, 2017 at www.sbmef.org. The scholarship recipient must cash the check within six (6) months from date of issuance.

SBMEF, ABWAs national educational fund, is one of the most highly respected grant and scholarship funds in the country. For over 60 years, ABWA has helped women achieve their business and professional success through educational scholarships.  Since its inception, more than 16,000 women nationwide have been awarded more than 17 million dollars in scholarships.

About the Humble Artesian League and the American Business Womens Association:
Members from the Humble Artesian League typically meet on the first Thursdays of the month at the Kingwood Country Club at 6 pm
