Break Out The Lederhosen! It's Almost Time For The Kingwood Oktoberfest!

It is time to break out the Lederhosen as the annual Kingwood Oktoberfest is quickly approaching and promises to be better than ever. Kingwood’s original Oktoberfest, The Kingwood Oktoberfest (TKO) will be “rolling out” barrels of fun and music on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Holy Comforter Lutheran Church at 1901 Woodland Hills Drive. Due to popular demand, the doors will open a bit earlier this year, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
This family fun event will once again feature German inspired food, a children’s play area, and polka music from The Texas Sound Check Band. As always, there will be games and activities for all ages. Listed as one of the top ten events in Kingwood in its inaugural year of 2016, the event attracted more than 1400 people last year.
Entertaining the TKO crowd for the fifth year will be The Texas Sound Check Band. Formerly known as the City Polka Boy’s, the Texas Sound Check band has been a staple in the polka community for more than 50 years. They have played at various festivals around the state, including the National Polka Festival in North Texas. Before the band takes the stage and during their breaks, DJ Rick Janacek of Club Foyer DJ Services will be spinning tunes and getting the crowd hyped with a variety of music and will also be emceeing this year’s event. Entertaining the crowds again this year will be dancers from the Kingwood High School German Club, who have been a fan favorite since the very first Kingwood Oktoberfest in 2016.
Our children’s area, sponsored by Elton Fritz Property/Real Estate Group, will have face painting, craft stations, multiple inflatables with climbing walls and slides, and much more!
What Oktoberfest would be complete without food and beer? We will serve Bratwurst, sauerkraut, and pretzels, prepared by our volunteers, along with hot dogs and chips. We will also have a variety of beer on tap and are selling steins to keep those beers cold and festive. We will also serve water and soda. All food and drinks will be sold separately, with the purchase of tickets sold on the grounds, and will range from one dollar to seven dollars.
It is fun to be a part of The Kingwood Oktoberfest, so sign up online to be a volunteer! We will also be selling Kingwood Oktoberfest merchandise and will have a bake sale with hand-made desserts lovingly made by members of Holy Comforter Lutheran Church and School.
We are proud to welcome back our TKO Event Sponsor – HUFCO, a Specialist in Parker Fluid Connections. HUFCO has been the leader in servicing the entire Gulf Coast Region in fluid power products for decades. We are also excited to announce our Gold and Silver Sponsors, Framestead Enterprises and Humble Law Center, respectively. Bronze Sponsors this year are Kosmin Media (Kingwood.com), Awaken Wealth Partners, Building Enterprises, Club Foyer DJ Services and A1 Construction. Friends of the Fest and Community Sponsors include Alitek Consulting, Amedeo’s, The Cove Craft Beer & Wine, Kings Crossing Car Care and Humble Sports Plex.
Doors for this year’s Kingwood Oktoberfest open at 11:00 am and close at 5:00 pm. Admission is $8.00 for adults and $3.00 dollars for children 12 and under. Cash and debit or credit cards will be excepted. So join us October 15th, and raise a stein to the often imitated, never duplicated, The Kingwood Oktoberfest! Prost! “Ziggy Zaggy, Ziggy Zaggy, Oi Oi Oi!”
