HCSO Violent Crime investigators have charged two people for allegedly shooting into a home and striking a 13-year-old girl in the chest.
Investigators say that Steven LeBlanc Blanco, 28, and Allison Strong-Matyas,19, were responsible for the shooting that wounded a 13-year-old female victim as she sat on her bed in the 14500 block of Maeline drive.
Deputies were called to the home at 4:30 p.m. yesterday, January 10, 2019. When they arrived, a family member told them that she and her sister were sitting on a bed in the home when they heard a pop and glass breaking. She said her sister slumped forward with a small trickle of blood on her upper chest.
EMS was called and the 13-year-old was transported to Houston Northwest Hospital in stable condition. She is expected to make a full recovery.
Deputies began searching the area after a witness reported a white colored truck with a male wearing a red hoodie stop along the side of the home and shoot one time into the residence. They were able to obtain surveillance video from a local business, and a still photo of the vehicle was shared on social media urging citizens to help locate the truck.
At around 10:00 p.m., a witness reported seeing the truck at the intersection of Greens road and Aldine Westfield in a convenience store parking lot. When deputies arrived, Blanco fled in the vehicle and a small pursuit was initiated.
Blanco and Strong-Matyas bailed out of the truck in the 3000 block of Greens road and fled behind the City Of Houston Fire Station 64. After a brief search, Blanco was found hiding in a storage container on the property. His female companion was found along a side street and was also taken into custody.
Blanco is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a weapon.
Strong-Matyas was also charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, as she was in the vehicle when Blanco shot into the residence.
