Memorial Hermann Summer Food Drive
Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital employees and volunteers collected and donated nearly 2,000 pounds of food to Humble Area Assistance Ministries (HAAM) after the hospital’s Third Annual Summer Food Drive. In addition, Memorial Hermann Northeast employees and volunteers donated more than $4,000 in cash to HAAM to purchase food at the Houston Food Bank.
“We are so very thankful for the tremendous effort expended by the employees at Memorial Hermann Northeast,” said Millie Garrison, executive director of HAAM. “The food and money collected will contribute greatly to HAAM being able to feed needy families in our community who otherwise may not get a meal. Each year, the employees at Memorial Hermann Northeast go beyond their previous year’s contributions. For that, we are incredibly thankful.”
Memorial Hermann Northeast’s Partners in Caring (PIC) team and the hospital’s Chaplaincy Program coordinated the drive. PIC team members Deandrea Hawkins, Veronica Chambers, Brittany Tinsley, Gwen Haws, Dawn Allen, Kimberly Stokes and Chaplain Andy Chao chaired the effort.
The Memorial Hermann Northeast PIC Team also sponsors a Back to School Supply Drive for the Humble Independent School District as well as a Fall Food Drive and Holiday Toy Drive, both for HAAM.
“Our employees have big hearts and pride themselves on giving back to our community,” said Heath Rushing, Sr. Vice President and CEO of Memorial Hermann Northeast. “When called to action, they give generously and volunteer to help those in need.”
